The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has announced job openings for commissioned officers through its latest recruitment drive for September 2024. You can now apply online to join PAF as a commissioned officer under the Permanent Commission (PC) or Short Service Commission (SSC/SPSSC). Both male and female candidates from across Pakistan are eligible to apply, whether they hold intermediate or graduate qualifications. The online registration period starts on 31st August 2024 and will close on 8th September 2024. Applications can be submitted through PAF's official website at www.joinpaf.gov.pk.

Available Positions in Various PAF Branches

PAF is recruiting officers across several branches based on specific eligibility criteria. Selection involves an academic test (computer-based), intelligence tests (verbal and non-verbal), a physical test, and an interview. Initial tests will be held at designated PAF recruitment centers, and shortlisted candidates will proceed to the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) for final assessments.

Eligibility Criteria for Key Roles

1. 158 General Duty Pilot GD(P)

   • Age: 16-22 years
   • Gender: Male and female citizens of Pakistan, AJK, and GB
   • Education: FSc (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, or Computer Science) with at least 60% marks, or A-Level with Physics and Math/Biology
   • Height: 5'4" (163 cm)
   • Vision: 6/6 without glasses
   • Training: 3 years at PAF Academy, Risalpur

2. 104 Aeronautical Engineering

   • Age: 16-22 years
   • Gender: Male citizens
   • Education: FSc (Pre-Engineering/Pre-Medical/Computer Science) or A-Level with Physics and Math/Biology
   • Height: 5'4" (163 cm)
   • Training: 4 years at PAF Academy, Risalpur

3. 114 Air Defence Course

   • Age: 16-22 years
   • Gender: Male citizens (Female height requirement: 4'10")
   • Education: FSc Pre-Engineering or A-Level with Physics, Chemistry, and Math
   • Training: 4 years at PAF Academy, Risalpur

4. Education Branch (134 CSC SPSSC/SSC)

   • Age: 21-30 years
   • Gender: Male candidates only
   • Education: MBA/MS/M.Phil in HRM, Project Management, Accounting & Finance
   • Rank After Training: Pilot Officer/Flying Officer

Selection Process for Commissioned Officers

Candidates will be required to undergo a series of tests:

• Intelligence Tests: Verbal and non-verbal
• Academic Tests: Subjects vary depending on the course
  • For GD Pilot, Air Defence, Logistics, and Admin & SD: English and Physics
  • For Aeronautical Engineering: English, Physics, and Math
  • For 134 CSC: Subject-specific academic tests

After these tests, shortlisted candidates will appear for an initial medical examination and interview. Selected individuals will be sent to ISSB for further testing, and the final medical test will be conducted at CMB Lahore.

For those applying to the General Duty Pilot role, a Flying Aptitude Test (FAT) will be conducted. Final selection will be made based on merit.

Physical Test Requirements

• Running: 1 mile in 8 minutes
• Push-ups: 15 in 2 minutes
• Sit-ups: 20 in 2 minutes
• Chin-ups: 3 in 2 minutes
